Why we don't have the big brand names.
The answer is simple. The brands that we carry offer much more music for much less money. Sounds Real Audio is committed; carry products that you will keep and enjoy for a very long time. Hi Fi seems to have evolved into a hobby where constant upgrading of components is the norm, where salesman justify outrageous prices, suggesting that in order get good sound you must spend and spend. That is simply not the case. At Sounds Real Audio you will find productsthat provide all the musical satisfaction you could ask for at far less costs.
Selecting products is a long process and some times luck plays into it. We attend the CES Show in Las Vegas and of course the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest here in our own back yard. We listen to speakers and amplifiers and preamplifiers, CD players and of course vinyl. We bring products into our show room and spent hours listening and comparing before deciding to carry a brand.
We have distanced ourselves somewhat from many "mainstream" hi end products where their only goal is to sell lots of product and make lots of money.
You have probably never heard of deHavilland Electronic Amplifier Company. These award-wining products are hand made, they are simple, not a lot of knobs and dials, all hand wired, and they produce the most believable and enjoyable musical experience we have heard. We believe the listener should become completely involved in the performance. Not only should the listener be able to enjoy long listening sessions with no fatigue, they should relish those listening experiences.
Wilson benesch speakers have recently been called "tomorrows classics"and are another great find. Their state of the art cabinets are constructed from laminated carbon fiber layers.Carbon fiber dissipates the sound waves off the back of the drivers quickly turning them into heat. Sonically the cabinets virtually disappear. These speakers are made in England and look like they are custom made in Germany. Their sound is sublime. Box free with a huge sound stage, very fast and very cohesive. The sound is grain free and fatigue free.
Esoteric CD/SACD players and Transports and DAC's.
A recent addition to our product line up Esoteric is a division of Teac. Good gene pool here. The awards in every price range speak of a commitment to great sound. A very complete product line will let you get superior sound at a budget you can afford. If cost is no object they can accommodate you as well. We have found the players to be ultimately musical and even have us questioning where we have a place for vinyl. They are that good. The VDRS Transports used in their higher end models is also sold to other companies for use in their players. These massive transports are vibration free and utilize a rigid disc clamping system. We have been very impressed with their performance.
Kubala-Sosna Cables and Interconnects
We were first made aware of these cables by a customer who had tried them in his system with components that he had purchased from us. Joe Kubala sent us a full set to try for ourselves. We were very impressed and still are. At the CES Show in 2009 many of the highly regarded sounding rooms were using Kubala-Sosna. Manufactures who want their equipment to sound its best choose Kubala-Sosna.

Our China Policy: Why we don't sell products made in China.
We have chosen not to sell any products manufactured in China. We believe the Chinese have taken many American and European made products and shamelessly copied them, only to sell them back to us in the USA. Americans have lost hundreds of thousands of jobs to the Chinese and we are now in substantial debt to the Chinese. The Chinese have a terrible record on human rights and workers there make only a fraction of what American workers make. I do not choose to support the communist country that supported North Vietnam during the conflict that costs thousands of American lives. Wasn't the Viet Nam War after all a battle against Communism? Is it now OK to enrich their country at a terrible cost to our own?
