Esoteric DV-60 Universal Player

Retail $6,800. Demo price $3,100

From Home Theatre Review;

...... the performance of Esoteric's DV-60 far exceeds players costing much more.  The amazing detail, bass control, clean and clear midrange and highs and incredible attack make this one of the best players out there. Add in the build quality and flexible up-sampling and true multi-format capability, and this is a player you could live with for a long time.  While I think everyone truly needs a Blu-ray player, I would also encourage them to try one of the Esoteric DV-60.  Should Blu-ray go the way of Beta and downloads take over the world of video, you'll still want your DV-60.

Providing high definition ("HD") video resolution at 1080p from your existing DVD collection, without having to buy new software. The Esoteric® DV-60 universal SACD/CD/DVD player is a high performance addition to the Esoteric® audio/video product line. The DV-60 shares the basic functionality of the Esoteric DV-50S, i.e. high quality 2 channel dedicated analog audio outputs (balanced and unbalanced), 14 bit video processing, a high-precision 24-bit digital to analog converter, unique up-conversion technology and multi-channel analog audio outputs (Supporting surround sound DVD video, multi-channel SACD and DVD-audio). High Definition ("HD"), video resolution at 1080p is now possible from your existing DVD's. Esoteric's proprietary HDMI "EXP" mode adds black level enhancement to your high-resolution video experience.

This is our demo pair and finished with beautiful dark cherry finish and not the Burl Walnut shown in the photo. We don't usually sell our demo Wilson Benesch speakers because they are custom ordered and take about five weeks to replace plus another three weeks to fully break in.

There is no waffling on the bass notes, no overtones of wooden structures. In this respect, the Curves are much more like a planar speaker than most dynamic speakers. There have been very few dynamic speakers where I have heard the driver more so than the driver and the cabinet. The lush Von Schweikert VR-4 SR MkII's with all their clarity in the midrange clearly have a cabinet sound worked into the presentation. This is normal, typical of dynamic speakers. What's not so normal is to have such a cave-like depth to a cabinet, especially a conservatively sized one, where there is so little resonance detectable.  Doug Schroeder, Dagogo.com

Audia Flight Two : We are selling our demo Audia Flight CD Two Player. This is a fine sounding and extremely well built player manufactured in Italy. Audia Flight Two uses the same electronic system of the Audia Flight CD One; the main difference is the laser mechanism - the Philips VAU1210/65 model, mounted on a massive machined base for maximum rigidity & lowest jitter. The input signal from the laser mechanism as from the inputs is directly converted or upsampled to 192KHz-24bit before the conversion. Massive multiple regulated power supplies have been used to extend the CD Two' remarkable performance. List price $4,200. Selling price of $2850.
